New Book Inspires Singing and Music-Making in Preschool

The book *Music as Education: Songs and Activities for Preschool* was written by drama educator Emma-Helena Berglund, who works at the Tellusbarn Cultural School. The book explores how music and drama can be integrated into preschool education to promote learning and development in accordance with the curriculum. 

According to the preschool curriculum, children should be given the opportunity to express their experiences and share them with others through creative activities. This book offers inspiration and practical ideas for incorporating music and drama as enjoyable educational tools in the preschool setting. 

“Tellusbarn’s cultural preschools focus on creativity and participation to stimulate children’s curiosity, social interaction, and creativity. By providing opportunities for various forms of expression, such as singing, music, and drama, we promote both language and motor skills development in children,” says Maria Friberg, director of Tellusbarn.  

The book contains 17 different songs with accompanying activities and conversation topics, which makes it easier for preschool staff to plan and conduct their lessons.

Emma-Helena Berglund has previously published the book *Förskolelåtar* and is a co-author of the popular children’s radio program *Magiska skogen*.
