Recurring Employee Survey—An Important Tool for Developing the Tellus Group’s Operations

Once per semester, the training company Tellusgruppen conducts an employee survey of just over 500 employees within the group. This fall’s survey shows that employees remain satisfied with the leadership within the group and that they are developing in their roles, get along well with their colleagues, and appreciate the support they receive from them.

“These employee surveys and evaluations, along with the analysis process that takes place in connection with them within most units and work teams, have become an important part of our systematic efforts to develop the company,” says Bijan Fahimi, CEO of the Tellus Group. “We’re seeing a slight decline compared to previous years, but our interpretation is that employees now clearly see that their feedback leads to discussion and action, and have become more forthright in their responses.”

One area where figures are declining is the time employees have for recovery. Many find it difficult to set aside time for reflection and to take breaks from their work, and they feel they have little energy left for other activities after the workday ends.

“This is an issue that has generally received lower ratings and shown a trend toward deterioration,” says Bijan Fahimi. “Most of our employees work with children and students, which in turn requires a high degree of physical and mental presence. This makes this issue particularly challenging to address.”

The results of the survey are reviewed during work meetings at each workplace, and based on the employees’ joint discussions, action plans are developed to serve as the foundation for creating a better work environment for the employees.

Several of the Tellus Group’s preschools and schools have achieved excellent results in the survey. This includes, for example, the Tulpanen preschool in Uppsala and the Robinson Fanna Tellusskolan n Enköping.

The survey was conducted in October 2023 and had a response rate of 79 percent, which is an increase from the spring survey, when 77 percent of employees responded.
