You can read CEO Bijan Fahimi's speech here:
“As we stand here on the eve of the Tellus Group’s first day of trading on Nasdaq, after many months of hard work, it’s easy to feel proud of having achieved an important milestone. We should certainly feel proud. What we’ve accomplished is significant. But we haven’t really achieved any specific goal. Being a publicly traded company has not been a goal in and of itself. However, it is a very valuable tool for helping us achieve our goals. Offering a high-quality service to as many people as possible in the most efficient way possible has been—and remains—the Tellus Group’s overarching goal. Our listing provides us with a new and effective platform to achieve this goal even more effectively.”
Even on that sunny day in May 2007, when my wife, Narges Moshiri, and I hurried out of the law firm’s office—where we had signed the purchase agreement for our first preschool—and headed to Rinkeby Centrum, where the preschool was located, to take over the business, we knew we wanted to become a leading player in the field of education and child care. Even then, we believed in growth and profitability through quality. Today, we have 27 locations providing 2,000 education and childcare spots where the next generation is equipped with knowledge, collaboration skills, and values for the future. In addition to our own entrepreneurial spirit and long-term vision, our toolkit has included competent employees and a well-organized operation.
With today’s initial public offering, we’re gaining new tools that will provide us with greater opportunities as we continue to develop Tellusgruppen and its subsidiaries. We can offer our customers, our healthcare providers, and our students greater financial security and stability. We’ve broadened ownership within the group, which brings not only new capital but also new expertise and a larger network. We have laid the foundation for faster growth and, consequently, new development opportunities for current and future employees. We operate in an industry where opportunities and challenges abound, and we now have even better tools to tackle them.
With today’s listing, we have not reached the end of a journey, but have entered a new phase. Throughout our work, we have been joined by our customers, employees, and partners. Now we look forward to welcoming another group of fellow travelers: shareholders and investors. Together, we will develop Tellusgruppen into the leading education provider it is meant to be, and we will give the next generation the best start in life they could ever have.”
