Tellusbarn Tellusbarn is opening two new preschools in August—The Explorer in Österåker and Discovery in Upplands-Bro—with a total of 300 spots for children. is placing extra emphasis on language, creativity, and health in its preschools.

Discovery has a Swedish-English profile, which means that there are English-speaking educators who largely speak English with the children, both in educational and care settings, but that the primary language remains Swedish. In addition, there is an art educator who works with the children on creative projects in areas such as visual arts, design, music, and dance. Giving children the space to explore different forms of expression is crucial for their development, both linguistically and in terms of motor skills.

At The Explorer, we place a strong emphasis on outdoor education. The outdoor environment provides children with entirely different opportunities to develop their motor skills and body awareness compared to the indoor environment. Daily physical activity also supports children’s learning, as there is a link between physical activity and learning ability. In addition, physical activity fosters imagination as well as social and emotional skills.

Tellusbarn , is also home to one of our six kitchens. The fact that has its own kitchens and prepares its own meals enables the preschool to help ensure that the children have access to a nutritious diet and a healthy start in life.
