How do we create a preschool where children’s participation, play, and learning take center stage? That question was the focus when Tellusbarn Kulturförskolan Smedby hosted a delegation of 36 preschool principals from South Korea as part of their study tour of the Nordic countries.

The delegation visited Sweden to learn about best practices in preschool education, and we are proud that Kulturförskolan Smedby was selected as one of the places they visited.

The day began with a warm welcome, where guests were greeted by flags, a welcome message in Korean, and our beloved teaching assistants Tellusia and Gojan. Principal Lollo Lusiné Manasian then presented the activities of the Smedby Cultural Preschool ( tellusgruppen's ) and our various preschool programs, before the focus shifted to Kulturförskolan Smedby’s approach and educational profile.

Together with preschool teacher Gustav, an in-depth presentation of the program was given, during which the delegation learned how the preschool works to ensure children’s genuine influence and participation, the importance of play, and a joyful, play-based approach to learning.

The visit was an inspiring exchange of ideas, during which participants had the opportunity to ask questions, discuss educational perspectives, and share experiences from their respective organizations. The day concluded with a group photo—a symbol of how knowledge, curiosity, and the desire to learn from one another build bridges between people and countries.

For Tellusgruppen , international study visits are valuable confirmation of the quality of our operations. At the same time, they give our employees the opportunity to reflect on their own work and be inspired by new perspectives. When experiences are shared across national borders, both operations and people grow.

We would like to extend our warmest thanks to the delegation from South Korea for an inspiring visit, and to all the staff at Tellusbarn and Kulturförskolan Smedby who helped make the day both educational and memorable.
