The Tellus Group's new restaurant is bringing the joy of food to middle school students in Linköping

Tellusgruppen AB, which owns Tellusskolan Thea Linköping, is making a special effort to improve school meals and has now opened a restaurant adjacent to the school. The restaurant serves as both a cafeteria for students and a lunch restaurant for the general public.

The restaurant, named " Tellusfood " at Kungsgatan 22, opened at the start of the 2024 semester and has been well received by the students. The food is prepared on site by Tellusfood’s own head chef.

“The students eat with a hearty appetite and are happy to pop their heads into the kitchen before leaving the dining hall to say thank you for the meal,” says Mimi Svanberg, who is in charge of the restaurant.

– One of the students said that the restaurant had only one flaw: it opened five semesters too late, since he or she is graduating from ninth grade this summer.

To further enhance the dining experience, the head chef has come up with inspiring names for the week’s various lunch options. For example, every week there’s a soup lunch called “Soupy­licious” and a fish day with the enticing name “By the sea.”

The restaurant also offers a daily lunch special to the general public at an affordable price.

Tellusfood Kungsgatan 22 is part of the Tellus Group’s initiative to improve the food served in the group’s preschools and schools, where all meals are to be nutritious, tasty, sustainable, and safe. The food service operations have been part of the company for a long time and have grown over the years; they are therefore now organized as a separate company with an estimated revenue of approximately 32 MSEK for 2023.

Tellusfood prepares approximately 3,000 meals every day, which are distributed to more than thirty preschools and schools. In addition to expanding its meal services to the Tellus Group’s own schools and preschools, Tellusfood will also offer meal services—such as catering—to other schools and preschools.
